We’ve been in our house over a year and I have yet to put anything above our couch. I finally got serious this weekend and did it! I used an old door that was in the basement. We’ve used this thing twice. Once as a desk top and another time for a table top. It was the perfect width for above our couch.
It was already painted white from its last use. The blue was paint we had leftover from another project. I used this chevron template from Sunset’s website.
I tried their directions without much success. So I spent a long, long time tracing the pattern, then taping it off.
I messed up a bit and had to do some erasing 🙂
Just a couple of coats of the blue paint and viola. I’ve really been loving the chevron patterns I’ve been seeing around. It really adds a pop of color, fills that blank space and best of all it was free!
Looks great!! Nice job.
Love it. Great job!
And, can I totally tell you I’m drooling over your wainscoting. So jealous.
it turned out great! that door has had so many lives! and ditto kim on the wainscoting.
That is so cool! I love seeing all the fun ways people are using this pattern. The door is such a great idea! I’ll be linking.
great idea! i don’t have anything over my couch either… and we are trying to go with a beachy theme – and i def think something like this might fit! 🙂
