Free Vintage Embroidery Patterns

Any embroiderers out there?

Floresita has tons of free vintage patterns at My Transfers. I especially like this little sailor boy and hula girl 🙂

Fabric gift tags and poms

I love love a pretty wrapped package. I know people are going to just rip it open, but still…

Purl Bee has directions for these sweet little tags and poms. They’d be so easy to make these with scrap fabric and yarn. I love it!

Sad News…

Our dear friend Jill passed away yesterday morning….

Please keep her husband, J.T. and their families in your prayers.

Wedding Invitations

Stephanie contacted me a couple of months ago about doing an invitation set for her. I was so excited as this is the first invitation I’ve done outside of my family. 🙂

She wanted to do all the handwork on these, so I just sent over digital files. She was sweet enough to send me some pictures of the printed product. Her assembly line takes me back to this time last year!

I think they turned out great Steph!

Prayers please

Over the past year and a half, I’ve gotten to know a great group of girls. We all got married in December and had lots of fun talking throughout wedding planning. Since our weddings, we’ve continued our conversations and now talk about buying houses, getting pets, having babies, etc. We have really all grown very close, even though most of us have never met.

We were all shocked to find out one of our own, Jill, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last October at the young age of 24. She has been so brave and positive throughout this. Always cheerful and looking on the bright side.

Although there has been some progress in the fight on her cancer over the past few months, they were told on Monday that her recent symptoms are indicating the “end of her life cycle.” At this point, the doctors don’t think there’s anything they can do for her.

Our hearts are breaking for Jill and her husband, J.T. right now. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.

Oh my sweetness

I found this recipe over on Blissfully Domestic the other day. Not only does it look delicious, but what a cool way to bake a cookie. Who knew you could cook that in a skillet?

Bringing in a little Fall

Apartment living never really inspired me to do too much decorating for holidays or otherwise. Now that we’re in a house, I’m starting from scratch. I made up this little wreath on Saturday.

I got the grapevine wreath for $1.50 and the orange artificial flowers for around $5 at Hobby Lobby. I didn’t even need wire! Just stuck the little flowers into the wreath.

DIY Rock Candy!

I found this over on WiseCraft a few days ago (scroll the the bottom of the post for the recipe). So fun and wouldn’t it to be cool to make your own Halloween candy? You could make these in orange and tie them in a little baggy with black ribbon. Perfect treats for neighborhood kids, coworkers or teachers!

Rehearsal dinner invitations

Just thought I’d show what I’ve been busy with lately. My step mother in law’s son is getting married at the beach in October and since she’s co-hosting the dinner and wanted to send some business my way, she asked me to make them!

They’re having a casual crawfish boil for the rehearsal dinner and were actually using blue gingham tablecloths, so the ribbon worked out perfectly.

She’s using sunflowers throughout the wedding, so we made sure to include that. And how lucky were we to find a stamp to match? I am such a stickler about stamps at least coordinating and get so frustrated when nothing is available! I’m still thrilled that we found these.

I made up little labels for the return addresses and printed all the addresses on my awesome new printer! Lots of work on these, but I think they turned out pretty cute. 🙂

Sandwich wraps

I believe this is Martha Stewart. I saved it so long ago, I can’t exactly remember. Sorry!

But how darling are these? Simple giftwrap or scrapbook paper wrapped around a sandwich makes it so much more fun!
