Secret Invites

Just saw these invitations from Jordan Ferney of Oh, Happy Day. They were for a  dinner in the middle of nowhere she hosted in honor of a friend’s birthday right on a pier in San Fran. These are the invitations she made. Her attention to detail absolutely blows me away. I love these so much.

She typed up the invitation on a typewriter..rolled them and placed them inside little vials she picked up at a flea market.

Sweet Somoas

Like many of you, Somoas are my most favorite girl scout cookie. I was thrilled to find this recipe from Once Upon a Plate, which she found on Baking Bites by baker Nicole!

Haven’t tried it yet, but I’m crossing my fingers that it’s a close match. If so, I will no longer be under the spell of those little girl scouts and their expensive boxes of cookie goodness.

SOMOAS!!!

Super cute spooky napkins

These napkins from Purl Bee are so cute! I love all the different fabrics they chose

Halloweenie Candleholders

Another great idea from Martha. They used two different colored sheets of tissue paper and wrapped around a glass cylinder vase. I have so many vases left over from the wedding and just inherited a ton of tissue paper. I think these would be great on our front steps to welcome in trick-or-treaters.

See her directions here.

Spooky

Marie over at Watch the Wind Blow By came up with this great idea. She made a knock off of a Ballard Design product. She used alphabet stamps on small pieces of wood, but you could also easily print out letters or designs and decoupage them onto wood pieces.  So easy and inexpensive!

Pumpkin Potpurri

A great idea from Martha….Hollow out a pumpkin and punch holes out with an apple corer. Rub cinnamon or pumpkin spices on lid and put cloves inside. Drop in a tealight and you’ll have incense that smells just like fresh pumpkin pie!

It’s here!

Jack o lanterns and spider webs are out in our neighborhood. October is here, which means Halloween is close!

I know everyone’s been talking about Halloween projects for weeks and I’m a little behind!

Better late than never….expect lots of Halloween themed projects in the next few days!

First up, a fun paper craft. Pumpkin ornaments! Designer Vicki Shields from Three Wheels Turning blog sent this in to Hostess Blog. Click over for directions.
